The Cities formed around 2004 when Joel & Luke started sending songs back and forth between Perth & Melbourne. Nick and Joel started jamming at Nick’s house, developing the songs, as well as eating & drinking alot 
The Cities received a grant from ArtsTasmania to record a 5 track EP, which has just been released. Unity is the culmination of years of procrastination and perseverance. We’re all really proud of our first CD as The Cities, and look forward to making many more.
We won a radio competition run by Hobart’s SeaFM in 2007 to support Silverchair & Powderfinger at the Derwent Enterntainment Centre. Jed Pickett joined us to play a great 30 minute set. The gig was amazing and will be a cherished memory. See some pix on our Look At Our Photos page.
Since then we haven’t done anything. Not even practise. We’ve spoken on the phone a few times. Caught up for a beer now and then. Joel’s written a handful of new songs but that’s it. Have we broken up? No, because we’re too lazy. I guess we’ll leave things open…
